Downsizing with Jane Green: # 6: Dealing with antique items

Consignment may be the best choice for certain items when planning an Estate Sale. When downsizing it's important to look at the history, condition and saleablilty of certain items.  Jane Green of A Clear Place and Zoe of Seniors Homing Together consider the where, why and how of a particularly interesting antique prep table being considered for the Estate Sale.

Before traveling across country this unique item was purchased at a fundraiser being held at the Sweetest Heart of Mary church in Detroit.

Originally part of the interior of the sanctuary the table was transferred to the workshop on the church campus where it remained until 2003. Zoe of Seniors Homing Together has lovingly restored and fitted the top with a custom Boos block cutting surface. The table has a rich history. 

Considering the story behing this antique prep table, Jane advises Zoe that the size, history and value of the table make it more appropriate to consider as a consignment piece.
